2. Wow! I'm impressed with your Spidey knowledge!

We saw them filming near W. 54th Street, in New York City, last summer. We were staying at the Hilton Manhattan Club. The crew took over the entire end of the block to the north and filmed an explosion of a Sabrett's hot dog stand, among other things. This was over the Memorial Day weekend. A stunt double wore the red and blue suit.

It was well over 90 degrees one day, and the extras in the scene had to wear winter clothes. One of the joys of working for SEG (Screen Extras Guild), I guess. Crowd control was amazing -- the police blocked off the Avenue of the Americas way down at around 50th Street in order to accommodate the camera, crew, and the explosive scene.

We left for the Newark on a Tuesday morning, and everything was back to normal!

5. I envy you
being able to see these movies actually being filmed, and what not...I would've loved seeing Spidey, or Superman Returns be filmed...I just love comic book movies...

I just saw the trailer for Transformers the Movie, the live action film by Michael Bay...it looks very interesting.

6. I am a reviewer -- I don't usually see filming going on, except if I happen upon a crew

filming during our travels, as I did in New York.

We previewed "Letters From Iwo Jima" (exceptionally well done second movie by Clint Eastwood) and "Notes On A Scandal" (English film with Judi Dench and Cate Blanchett -- should be up for Oscars for this candid story). I am embargoed from reviewing them until they open in our area in the next few months.

December movie previewing is exceptionally rich, as the studios bring on their best stuff for possible Oscar consideration.

We missed "Dreamgirls" and "Night At The Museum" as well as several other foreign films including "Volver" this month -- just too many movies to go to!

It's a little like being a kid in a candy store! You get a stomach ache if you eat too much.

I don't believe I've seen that trailer, but I'll check it out on the Internet. Thanks for the information.

Radio Lady listens...
