GameCube Question
I got a free gamecube. just the cube. nothing else. I know it works, since I gave it to a friend to try out.

Is it worth trying to find the cables, cords and controllers?

I figure a used gaming store would have them...

Never played a gamecube, and with the advent of PS3 and others, is it worth dealing with?

1. I'd say yes.
The Gamecube games are a lot of fun, and not as hard to play as the Playstation or XBox ones.

Do you have a used videogame store nearby?
(Like EB Games)

You can get the cords and controllers really cheap there.
Games too.

My recommendations for good games to get:

Spyro: A New Beginning
Spyro: A Hero's Tail
Starfox: Assault
Starfox Adventures: Dinosaur Planet
Animaniacs: The Great Edgar Hunt (Even Pinky and The Brain are in it!)

2. yes, it is worth it...
and I was doing my Christmas shopping today and I did see controllers (both Nintendo official ones and non-name brand ones which work just as good) and new and used games for sale, this was at EB Games and GameStop.

I don't play GameCube that much personally, my mom does. She never tried the PlayStation games because she loves Nintendo. But she loves it! Her new favorite accessory is a wireless controller because my dad no longer trips on the wires.

And, if you happen to have a GameBoy Advance, there is even an attachment that you can put on the Cube that allows you to play GameBoy Advance games on your television screen. Which also works at well if you don't want to pay the $50 or $60 bucks for GameCube games as you can buy slightly simpler but just as fun GameBoy Advance games for less than $30.

So, I'd say go for it. After all, so far Nintendo seems to be releasing games on Wii and GameCube simultaneously.
