I watched Harvey,Munich and Syriana while home sick yesterday.
What strange disturbed dreams I had,but today I cannot remember the details.

1. Munich and Syriana were two of my favorites from the past year.

Syriana for its content and story, Munich for its filmmaking. I could watch Syriana every night and take something different away because of the writing.

I could watch Munich every night and find something each time that sets Spielberg apart from his peers.

Edited cuz I type too fast for my own good.

What word would describe them,I didn't enjoy the experience, nor can I say they entertained me? But they were enlightening.

3. I agree, neither were "enjoyable"
I certainly respect them both for the work that went into them, though.

I had what must have been a two-hour discussion with a friend about Munich. It had so much to say about today's situations (both Israel/Palestine and terrorism) and the tendency of human nature to vacillate between revenge and forgiveness. If one were to watch it as a blank slate, with no intentions of intuiting anything from the story, they'd see a ripping fabric of emotion, and that's what I finally take away from the film.

4. me too
Munich's depiction of violence was unforgettable.

Syriana's depiction of greed was equally so.

5. Syriana disappointed me. Felt...distant.
Good, but clinical. It didn't move me, which is pretty important for a film IMHO.

6. I have Harvey on my DVR list,
just waiting for me. I love that movie. Jimmy Stewart was so good in everything he did, but I think that was one of his best roles.

Or rather, Dowd, Elwood P.

I love Harvey. Wish I had a "pooka" around here, too.

8. I have been looking for years,
but have never found one. I know that is my lost. Think how much nicer the world would be if everyone have their own pooka.
