Tragedy strikes close to home.
The pastor of the church which my children attend along with the rest of my extended family has suffered an enormous tragedy. The pastor has a son who was killed last night on duty as a police officer. Basically, he burned to death in one of those rear-end collisions while responding to another call. These Crown Victoria police vehicles seem to be prone to this. It is very sad. I see the pastor almost weekly as a pick up my children from different church functions. He's an extremely nice and spiritual gentleman. He will need all of his faith to weather this one. I am not much a praying person but I will say one for him.

3. I saw this on the news today.
I wish they would do something about those Crown Victorias, but Ford still will not take responsibility for these kind of accidents. This is a real shame.

5. So sorry to hear of your loss.
Killed while helping someone...surely there is a reward for him in whatever awaits us after this life.

May his memory be for a blessing.

8. That's not the first time I've heard of it happening w/
a Crown Vic. I remember working the radio a few years ago when Highway Patrol asked for immediate assistance from the area deputies. Turns out one of their troopers was in a vehicle on the interstate and was rear ended. The vehicle, a Crown Vic, caught on fire and he was trapped.

He didn't make it either.

We all talked about it a few years ago, stating back then that they should be recalled. Three years later and this is still happening.
