Baking and Presents!
So today, Ma and I made cookies, fudge, etc. (and it's still going).

And... I got the best present of my life, early:

Unfortunately... I'm not kidding. I love these things. :D

How's your day been? :hi:

1. I'm nosy
Edited on Sun Dec-17-06 05:11 PM by Rosemary2205
are they granite or formica lookalike? I'm having a snork because I wonder if someone put delicious granite countertops into a kitchen with ancient cabinets. I have the same cabinets, my black pulls have a little latch in the handle that has to be depressed for the drawer/cabinet to open. So help me, if it's the last thing I do, I'm going to sand these things down, paint them up good and buy new hardware. My old formica looks like butcher block.

Cookies.......yum.

2. Yep, they're lookalike...
:D Good luck with your kitchen, too. Ours is old, but it's pretty functional. So far, it's the largest we've ever had, so that's nice. :D

:9 They really did turn out well. :)

3. This house was built in 1950
The cabinets are obviously original and since this is a rental, aren't in very good shape. The counters are formica look alikes, complete with seams. The stove has a flat ceramic cooking surface and the dishwasher is mid-range in quality. The floors are Pergo. With the exception of the old cabinets and hardware, it's really one of the nicest rentals we've lived in.

and the reason my grades weren't great. ;)

She spent days before the ceremony walking around with my cap on her head. Hard to believe she's going to be twenty in a few months.

Yesterday I made a birthday cake and fudge, today it's spritz cookies, rolled sugar cookies and...something else. I forget...oh yeah -- peanut brittle again. And maybe the peanut butter cups.

30. My gf and I spent the weekend baking.
We made homemade chunky applesauce so that we could make the perfect Applesauce Cakes.

Then we made Gingerbread cookies, and Peanutbutter-Chocolate cookies, and Sugar cookies, and then we dipped Dates into Chocolate just to do something with fruit and chocolate.

34. Come on over. I'm feeding the office.
The secret to really good applesauce cake is that you can't use comercial applesauce. That comercial stuff is too thin and too sweet.

I love making homemade applesauce. :9
