I hate secular Xmas carols!
Edited on Sat Dec-16-06 11:44 AM by JVS
Jingle bells? :wtf: Talk about a zero content song. It's fun to ride in a sleigh. BFD, it's fun to light bags of poop on fire at people's doors, but you don't see any Halloween songs about that. Or there's the "I like snow" song i.e Winter Wonderland. Did the writers of these songs interview people who were severely stupid to figure out what a good song topic would be?

1. "Sleigh Ride" kicks the ass of any religious carol.
That song is so bloody addictive it's not even funny, and the Boston Pops version is especially amusing.

:P :P

3. You really want a stupid one?
Try this one, sang in a "little girly" voice. (urp) (gag)

I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas
Words and music by John Rox
performed by Gayla Peevey (1953)

I want a hippopotamus for Christmas
Only a hippopotamus will do
Don't want a doll, no dinky Tinker Toy
I want a hippopotamus to play with and enjoy

I want a hippopotamus for Christmas
I don't think Santa Claus will mind, do you?
He won't have to use our dirty chimney flue
Just bring him through the front door,
that's the easy thing to do

I can see me now on Christmas morning,
creeping down the stairs
Oh what joy and what surprise
when I open up my eyes
to see a hippo hero standing there

I want a hippopotamus for Christmas
Only a hippopotamus will do
No crocodiles, no rhinoceroses
I only like hippopotamuses
And hippopotamuses like me too

Mom says the hippo would eat me up, but then
Teacher says a hippo is a vegeterian

There's lots of room for him in our two-car garage
I'd feed him there and wash him there and give him his massage

I can see me now on Christmas morning,
creeping down the stairs
Oh what joy and what surprise
when I open up my eyes
to see a hippo hero standing there

I want a hippopotamus for Christmas
Only a hippopotamus will do
No crocodiles or rhinoceroseses
I only like hippopotamuseses
And hippopotamuses like me too!

4. Well, technically those aren't Christmas carols
They're seasonal songs which people tend to play for Christmas because it falls during that season and so reminds them of it.

And it is a great deal of fun to ride in a sleigh. Beats the hell out of Christmas shopping.
