Saturday, December 16. William Shakespeare's Thought For The Day:

"Blow, winds, and crack your cheeks! rage,
blow!
You cataracts!"

King Lear, Act III, Scene II, Lines 1-3.

WSTFTD for Friday, December 15, did not appear, due to the Puget Sound region's record-breaking windstorm and subsequent power outage.

1. Aristus, it's so good to see you're OK,
and back with your great WSTFTD!

How are things up there?

I've been posting news links from the Pacific NW
on another Dem. board, hoping members from the area
check in.

I read winds were clocked at 113 mph. near MT. Rainer!!

Good God, those are hurricane winds!

:hi:

2. Things are getting back to normal, little by little.
I scored another paid day off yesterday, because "an act of God" cut the power to all the clinics. So my wife and I did some Christmas shopping and basically stayed away from our cold dark house. All the drive-thru fast-food joints in the area were jammed with people who evidently lost power and couldn't cook, and almost certainly had spoiled food at home. (I've got two gallons of milk, about twenty eggs, some turkey and some cheese that I'll have to throw out later today.)

And, obviously, the power is back on at Chez Aristus. B-)

4. Kick. Note to self, Aristus:
No more WSTFTD concerning personal or local issues. There's no broad interest for it.

Check. B-)

6. And that's a shame.
I really like today's photo and great quote.

The problem is, a lot of people in that area may
still be without power and the internet.

Still, I would think there would be more interest!

Hell, any hurricane or earthquake generates lots of buzz.
This is no different, at all.

Be safe, all of you up in the Pacific Northwest!

9. And here I was complaining about the tiny part of this front
we caught in San Francisco.

Glad you're up and posting, Aristus. I don't post to your WS threads often but I always peek to see if I can id the line. ;)
