I would like a friend...
I would like a lover...

I would like a moment of joy...

I would like a kiss...

I would like a touch...

I would like to know someone cares...

That I might be on someone's thoughts. That I might make someone worry. That my concerns might be yours, for just a little while.

And if even one of those can come to life, life would feel worthwhile.

1. You can have ALL of those. I do. Just find the right husband, like I found
the right wife.

2. Actually I do have a great husband... and he provides me those things...
then why did I write this? Maybe I wish he'd come home now so we could be closer.

4. You're so right. Even through all the ups and downs, it is always
worth it.

Although I did find myself questioning that whole "in sickness and in health" bit this weekend when I was pissed at him. But, he's so wonderful, I can't stay mad at him for more than 10 minutes at a time.

12. We've had sickness on both sides, as you may know. The "taking care of" is as
strong a factor as the "being taken care of."

18. Yes, it's really quite mutual...
all this year Mr. Writer has taken care of me. Now it's vice versa. I'm sure there will be a give and take until one of us passes on.

8. You have us, friend. You also have mass love...
I think about you; your posts are the utterances of humanity & earnestness that take courage to muster up. A lot of people are afraid of earnestnes. I'm scared to death of it, but you bring it out in me like an ally. Then things aren't so bad.

I read your thread about your husband being laid off. It got absolutely enormous. I just want to say here that I'm really sorry. I know you're in shock. I had 2 jobs yanked out from under me because they were being sold or because they couldn't "afford" me and it was just like that! "YOINK!!!" WTF?

Here's hoping that tonight you can get a kiss as well, and some peace.

and wanting him to come home from his lame duck office cube so we could chill and watch the Daily Show together. It worked backwards logically.

21. neat
John Barlow wrote "Looks Like Rain" forty years prior to meeting his wife. When he sang it to her, he felt that he had written it for her. When she died, he finally realized what the song is all about.

Feeling stranded - as I have much over this year - is a terrible feeling.

I understand what you're referring to.
