Zinc lozenges are tragically bad
but they seem to be keeping this cold at bay, so i'll keep sucking that newly-minted penny flavor right out of them.

1. They give me really bad stomach aches.
Especially if my stomach is empty. But they do seem to work.

4. it's that god-awful aftertaste that gets me...
it takes days for the penny flavor to go away.

2. Loads of vitamin C pills do the trick for me.
I've had mild colds, but I haven't had the flu in 3 years (touch wood).

5. is your throat bothering you
or are you using them strictly for the zinc/vitamin C?

11. the kiddo is passing a cold around the house.
i started the zinc early. i've been trying to get sick for 2 days, but so far i'm fighting it off.

i finally picked up the zinc lozenges before i felt sick, and they really seem to be helping.

13. gotcha,
Edited on Mon Dec-11-06 02:43 PM by buddhamama
i was wondering if you could forgo the lozenges ( that's why i asked about your throat) and instead take VitC and zinc supplements.
then you wouldn't suffer from the nasty after effects.

i hope they continue to work,
and you remain healthy.

7. I can't stand any of those zinc cold-reducer things...
but I suppose they are better than an actual long-lasting cold.

17. The Cold-Eeze brand is quite effective for me! More acceptable flavors
than any others, and the after-taste isn't terrible.

Best of all, they calm a sore-throat better than any other lozenges.

18. I like the zinc gumballs.
The fakey gumball fruit flavor mostly covers up the nasty zinc-ness.
