7. Yeah
had a cat that got run over and I had to give him meds that helped relax his bladder so I could express it, the hope being that he would regain his bladder control.

after 3 weeks of squeezing his bladder, giving him meds, etc. He wasn't getting better

so I had him euthanized.

2. Is it the metronidazole?
I give Simba that every day for barfing. He HATES it - if I don't position the pet piller just right, he works the slimy oozing pill out of his mouth and heads for the hills. Poor baby. Hope your kitty gets through this with a minimum of incidents!

4. Thank you. But you know what? Richard's is liquid.
Every twelve hours. I am committed to this course of treatment, because I don't want him to be miserable anymore, and because we just aren't ready to say goodbye.

We put him in one of these things, with the paws zipped in, and that itself is a fight.

10. If I ever tried to put my cat in a bag like that, the police could
put the biggest piece of me in a bag like that.

Perhaps it's not the medicine he wants no part of :silly:

11. Yes. Can't remember what it was, but I tasted it by accident and it was awful.
And getting it into the cat was a challenge -- after the first taste he'd run and hide. I swear he could hear me thinking about giving him the medicine. So I'd chase him around the house, finally corner and catch him, and then try to get this eyedropper thing full of nasty liquid in his mouth before he tore out my spleen.

Did you know that cats have the remarkable ability to grow additional arms and legs with lots and lots of claws when they are being forced to consume medicine that tastes like ear wax mixed with battery acid?

12. Is the song "Iron Man" an allegory or actually about an iron Man?

You said 'anything'.

15. Ask the vet if you can mix
it with something he likes. My vet tells me to mix meds with linatone to get it in them. Since the whole zoo crew looks at linatone as a treat it does help. specially with the evil clavamox that everything hates. Still have to be fast and have more linatone ready as a treat though.

Also, for the late great Mojo the vet ordered his from a place that would make his raisin flavored. Well that was after chicken flavored failed miserably but he did handle the raisin much better.

17. Clavamox, that's the stuff. Bleh, yuk, puke!
No wonder trying to feed it to them is like sticking your hands in a Cuisinart.

concoction to a tiny(1.2 lb)ferret and now need to find the peroxide and band-aids. Nothing can hide that from any of them for long. Soon I am going to grow long nails to use on the vet when he prescribes it. It has got to be the most vile tasting antibiotic ever made. Same ferret is now greedily gulping her linatone to rid herself of the after taste. Thankfully that was her last dose.

16. We just pilled Imhotep
He's on steroids and a couple of other things for his chronic stomatitis. Sigh. It's no fun.

"Pill" is now a verb at our house, as in "Time to pill the cat", as in "I'd rather shove my hands into a barrel of broken glass." It's a 2-person operation. :P
