Seriously, find a good layout (just look up myspace layouts, or grab an address from someone's myspace page that you like-look for "this layout by").
There are also instruction pages about all that on myspace help.
You can tweak it in some pretty cool ways. Lots of neat stuff out there,but don't overload your page or it will be a pain for other people to browse.
Put your pics on there; it's easier for family and friends to see rather than having to give them a password to a photobucket acct. or such.
