Help me fix my furnace, please!!!
We're having a bit of a furnace problem. It's a Trane XE90, and I'm getting an "open high limit device" error. I can't seem to find any of the mysterious reset switches, and I've changed out the filter. By any chance are any of you Trane trained?

1. google your model and look around for a forum for do-it yourselfers
find a fairly active one and you could get answers pretty fast.

2. Fixed it, more or less.
The problem was a sensor that turns off the burners when it starts to get too hot. The switch wasn't returning to its proper position when the temperature went back down, so the heat never came back on. We fixed it for the moment, and have an extra part on order in case it happens again.

(Of course, it was the hardest part to get to.)

3. Hit it with a rench.
That'll make it work for about an hour.
