Does God Approve of Our Yuletide Rituals?

Take this Bible quiz to test your knowledge of what the scriptures say about holiday Christmas traditions.

I got 3/6.

2. My gut reaction is that many of them draw an automatic "No."
I'm talking about wearing yourself out with overwork and activities, focusing on shopping and consumerism, competition, settling family scores at the holidays, and of course being rotten to co-workers.

Yeah, I've got issues with how people observe Christmas and New Year.

5. Since god exists only in our imaginations
He probably approves or disapproves of pretty much the same things we do :donut: :)

6. I think I may have read a few too many books on the right wing
Christian loonies and how they think, because I got a 6 out of 6 correct. Well, off to venerate Isis now.

7. One of my daughter's school friends told her that God "hates" Santa and
Halloween.

:(

10. She came and asked me about it. I felt bad for her -
this little girl is one of her best friends and they have so much fun together.

I told her that our belief does not tell us that God hates either Santa or Halloween. I also told her that if her friend does not embrace Santa or Halloween that is up to her and her family, but that my own daughter should not worry that God will be "mad" at her for loving Santa and participating in Halloween. Santa and Halloween are part of our traditions.

It's hard to explain to a first grader that our beliefs and traditions may not always coincide with others, but I did caution her to be sensitive about what others believe. I only wish that all of her friends would do the same.
