I *totally* scored on changing my cable service tonight!!

I'm so fucking happy!!

Last year, I got a great deal on moving up to basic cable - half price for twelve months. I also have cable broadband.

So the deal expires this month, so I called the cable dealer to see what my options were, knowing that my new price for basic cable (twice what I was paying) is about the same price as the low-level digital service, and I thought, "Well, if they're about the same price, I'll go digital" since digital is so much better, especially in terms of it telling you what the hell you're watching, what's on other channels, and all those other fancy features.

So the woman I'm speaking with digs around to see what can come up - and we find a deal that gives me digital cable, with about 30 more channels than I had plus 45 radio channels and pay-per-view and a bunch of other stuff AND a DVR, for only $13 more than I'm paying now. If I hadn't upgraded to the DVR, I would actually be paying $2 less than I've been paying.

WOO HOO!!!!!!!!!

This deal only lasts for 12 months, but, who knows, maybe I'll score even better next year!

AND I'M TOTALLY FUCKING HAPPY TO FINALLY HAVE DVR!!!!!!!!!!!

This is gonna be a godsend, because my work schedule is so topsy turvy and always changing with a lot of travel, weekend work, and other nonsense - I can finally watch every epeisode of Battlestar Galactica now, instead of having to wait for the DVDs to come out. To say nothing of all the new South Parks, Famioy Guys, Simpsons, all the Alton Brown shows, and Daily Show and Colbert Report - AND be able to skip all the *(#&$*^% commercials!
