Video wont play in media player only audio. What codec do I need?
Edited on Wed Dec-31-03 02:22 AM by BEFOREATHOUGHT
I just downloaded “Uncovered the whole truth about the Iraq war” It is scrambled and only plays the audio. This happens from time to time with certain video files, what codec do I need? I will post the link for the download when I get this video working.

I saw in another post that the Director Robert Greenwald has given permission to duplicate it and spread it to other people. I will buy it as soon as I get my first paycheck from my new job.

you could also try running it in Quicktime or Real Player

also, usually your player will automatically contact the Win media site for an updated codec when it needs one

4. maybe divx..
it depends on who encoded it.

could be xvid, divx or some oddball.

grab the "tsunami" codec pack, or the "nimo" codec pack and also get the xvid and divx latest releases. google will provide links.

14. DS1 - I messed up again - video won't play
I downloaded about 5 codecs and it worked. The video play back did not match the audio, so I tried to download another codec that turned the video green. I then uninstalled all codecs and I'm back at not being able to play the video. I should have uninstalled each codec one at a time then see if the video worked. I will PM you when the issue is resolved.

12. Download video lan player
Go here http://www.videolan.org/

and download the video lan player. This thing will play almost ANYTHING. Why microsoft can't do this with their billions and it CAN be done with a FREE download is beyond me!

I love my VLC player. Saves the time of formatting a download.

18. hmm
Has someone else the file and not this problem?

I can't really help you - try other codecs (official DivX www.divx.com for example).
