Supposed to have some ice and sleet and snow this afternoon. I work at a hospital and they have been desperately calling because they are shorthanded (I worked 48 hours from Friday until Monday). Should I answer the phone and sacrifice life and limb to drive to work--risking getting stuck there--or stay home with my warm blanky and hot chocolate and continue to ignore the phone?
1. NO ONE can fault you for not risking your life or sanity.
In the words of Amon Goethe, "I pardon you."
Just being silly. Unless I was in horrible financial straights and needed the massive overtime, I'd sit still and put on the kettle. MY days of ACTUALLY risking my ass for anyone I don't like are over.
But then, I work in a hospital too. If you really can't get there safely, I would tell them they have to have someone in a 4WD vehicle come get you and bring you home.
The sick people have to find a way there too, you know. :)
on a 2-lane road. Not sure I want to risk it and I really don't trust other people's driving. But more than that...that they would get me there and not give a shit how I got home, lol.
