Your site's pretty good, too! ;->
I plan to keep working on the archive until my Christmas break is over, on January 4th. I'll have to see how far I can get with it.
If anyone's interested in seeing what's done, so far, here's a direct link:
http://www.timbuk3.com/knew.htm or you can come in through the main page at
http://www.timbuk3.com/ and then using the "What We Knew, What We Were Told" link on the menu bar.
If I can't get enough done by then, I may come back here and ask for help. I believe that it's worthwhile to archive the text of the stories that "led us to war".
With all of the damage that Bush has done to our country, he's a "target rich environment", but I think what he did in Iraq is enough to mark him as the worst President since Hitler. (Wait, Hitler wasn't a President. Well, you know what I meant.) It will take a miracle to get our troops out of there before the next election (and Katherine Harris isn't in charge of setting up the Iraqi's new government, so we can rule that out.) All the polls before the war said that support will end when the casualty level nears 1000.
I hate to take advantage of the deaths of American soldiers who are only following orders, but Bush is dangerous. Any means to remove him is acceptable, to me, just like any means to an end is acceptable to them. Fight fire with fire.
We need to remember what our "goals" were, there. If we don't, Rove will change our memory as it fits his "re"-election plans, and that is simply unacceptable. If we are to "honor our troops" we need to stop being loudmouthed bullies and get international support for them, something Bush has proven he's incapable of doing. Unless you call a speech to the UN about child prostitution some kind of attempt at trying to gain a consensus of opinion on Iraq.
