"Happy Feet" is a piece of left wing propaganda..so says Faux
and it is a wonderful film.

Actually, there are fundamentalists, bigoted narrow minded fogies, free spirits, rugged individualists, environmental concerns and of course some romance.

Music is fabulous

Art is extraordinary

and how in hell can you make an emporer penguin look like Elijah Wood? They did.

Very good flick.

Picking the best Animated at Oscar time is going to be HARD!!!!!

4. I can see how it would be seen that way. Consider
I found it to have a subtle anti-religious message. Of course, then again, it could just be a message not against religion, but groupthink as a whole. And being anti-groupthink is usually left-libertarian. Then, consider that the groupthink was locked and set in the old ways (aka, conservatism).

Then, of course, consider environmentalism. One theme of the movie was that the penguins were suffering because the "aliens" (humans) were taking all the fish, so they had nothing to eat. Additionally, when Mumble started getting attention, the people who followed him to observe his home were most likely biologists or zoologists encouraged by animal rights activists. And then, of course, there is the brief depiction of debates among humans about the morality of taking fish from the penguins...

And I absolutely must stress this last point. I kept feeling, while watching it, especially the last half hour, that the RW would try to argue that this was some sort of parable for the life of Christ. They would argue that Mumble was a profit who brought the truth to an old religion, and was therefore cast out by religious leaders. Then, of course, there is his return from "death". And lets not forget that he not only was able to feed the masses, but did so by providing fish, of all things...

But even if this has Christlike storylines, many contend that Christ himself was very liberal. So, agian, left wing message....

so, yeah, I could see why they would think that.

And screw them.

15. I hope those rightwingers never catch any "Jonny Quest" episodes...
It's blantantly obvious that Dr. Quest and Race Bannon were involved in "the love that dares not speak its name".

9. I have seen Happy Feet four or five times at work.
Please tell me what is "left wing" about this film?

All I saw was a cute penguin named Mumble, lots of great dancing and music, and a story kids will love.

Man, people are fucked up.

I haven't seen the movie yet but really want to - but I laughed really hard when I read that. Uh, it's a movie about PENGUINS.

On edit - I looked it up and Roche is using the film to market awareness for the vaccine. But this guy was totally up in arms over it...

12. Good. The Right keeps making a huge deal out of....
stuff like this, while the American people get more and more tired of being told what to think, and desperate for some real action on real problems. Go, Fox. Keep those rating plummeting.

There's one thing you can say about the Neoclowns: They don't know when to quit.

13. My wife and kids went to see it and came home communists.
I was wondering why my seven year old began discussing writing a treatise for his second grade class a piece entitlted "Antarctic Dancing: A Marxist-Leninist-NeoTrotskyite Theoretical Dialectic Post-Freudian Existential Analysis from the Perspective of Internationalist Avian Class Struggle."

My wife - I must say - really didn't think much of the film. The kids found it tolerable I think, but it wasn't their entertainment high point.
