20. When my wife was pregnant last year with our son,
we ranked the reactions of various relatives from "apathetic" all the way up to "Price is right"!

CONGRATS!

12. Ah, a colleague! Congratulations, friend!
Me and the wife are expecting our own little bundle of joy on 7th April. So I know that funny feeling you probably are having in your belly now - just wait until the ultrasound checkup. Magic!

Have you any names in mind yet? Me and the wife sorted that issue out before we even got married, it just makes sense ;)

Anyway: Congratulations and welcome to the Club of Expectant Fathers, the best club to be a member of in the world! :)

That's how long I've been a father for.. It is amazing, BUT make sure you sleep now ( for the next 8 months!), and be ready for a major change. It really is as mind blowing as people say. The bit I find hardest is looking at the world at the moment, and thinking we have to change for our children. If it wasn't for DU, I think I would have succumbed to madness.

on edit:-

Sorry what am I thinking, my first line should be congratulations, because is it is worth celebrating big style.

17. Congratulations
And a bit of advice.

If the child is a boy and you are changing his diaper, put a cloth over his penis when you remove the diaper. The cool air on his lower body will produce a predictable result.

I pass this on because nobody mentioned it to me.

Nuff said.

Congratulations again.

25. Okay, then. Now, a warning about baby girls
If the child is a girl and you are any sort of real man

The first time you hold her in your arms she will reach into your chest and grab your heart and she'll never let go.

Resistance is futile ;^)

You will change and grow in so many ways just watching the world through your child's eyes.

I hope the preganancy and delivery are smooth sailing!

22. Congratulations and welcome to the club!
Our little guy is just over 3 months old and is quite a thrill. Get lots of sleep now. Really. Lots of it. I found those first 6 weeks or so of low sleep aren't too bad since you'll be pretty wired from the whole experience, but that wears out and then you're just fatigued ;-)
 You should also carry a sack of flour in your arms for the next few months to condition your back muscles. Seriously, my back hurts all the time from holding him! I use a Maya Wrap sling and am eyeing an "Ultimate Baby Wrap" as well, and my wife uses a Baby Bjorn - these help so much.

If you're doing disposable diapers, I vouch for the Pampers Swaddlers. They hold very well, the tabs can be re-attached, and the material has a sort of cloth-like feel to it that the baby seems to like.

Congratulations!!
