I met a Deanie at work yesterday!
I was at the family practice office completing my externship for my Medical Assisting degree. I went out to the mailbox to get the mail, and saw a 'Dean For President' bumpersticker on a car in the parking lot. I went back in and said to the ladies in the scheduling office: "Hey, we've got a Howard Dean fan in the office today." A nice lady in the waiting room in her late fifties waved at me and said "That's me." Well, part of my job is to get the patients prepped to see the doctor, so while I was taking her blood pressure and stuff, we talked a bit about Dean, B*sh, and the 2004 Election. She described herself as a long-time Democrat, upon which I threw professional restraint aside and did a big "Yyyyyessss!" She said that as a woman getting along in years, universal, single-payer health care was her prime concern. She also told me she was active in the Pierce County Democratic Caucus, and asked if I wanted to get involved. In return, I told her about DU, and suggested she log on and check out what's happening. It was a nice little liberal Democratic interlude. I hope she joins us here in evilDU-er land. Hi, if you're there! :hi:

2. I have a Dean sticker on my car but everyone at my office is a freeper...
so I park my car with the bumper towards the wall.

'Cause you never know when someone will use personal politics against you at work (denying raises, etc.).

3. I made up a 'Dean For Democracy' flyer on my PrintShop program
and used to tape it into my back window for the thirty mile drive to school. I'd remove it when I got there and then tape it back in for the drive home. Find some way to safeguard yourself from key-krazy freepers.

9. I want to put a sticker on
But I don't know who I support yet. At this point it looks like my other half is leaning towards Dean and I'm leaning towards Clark.

My mom and step-dad are mostly impressed with Kerry.

But on thing for sure, it's allllllllll about getting Bush's stank ass out!

4. it's a valid concern
and I don't blame you. I sure wish it didn't have to be that way, though.

5. Fun at work!
Sounds like it was a blast.

I work at a law firm in DC. Some attorneys here work for the Bush campaign; others work for various Democratic candidates' campaigns. One of the Bush camp bigwigs is on my floor, and he has frequent visitors. You should see some of the looks, hear some of the comments I get as visitors walk past my desk & see my DEAN bumper sticker (which is prominently displayed). I have far more fun at their expense than they think they're having at mine.

6. I have a Dean pin in my clubicle at work
Some people stop and ask who he is. Some express support. Some say they like Bush. Most ignore it.
