The Ethel Merman Disco Album
Edited on Tue Dec-30-03 02:46 AM by oxymoron

(Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom...)

You'll be swell,
You'll be great!
Gonna have the whole world on a plate.
Startin' here,
Startin' now,
Honey, everything's coming up roses!

Clear the decks,
Clear the tracks.
You got nothin' to do but relax!
Blow a kiss,
Take a bow.
Honey, everything's coming up roses.

Now's your inning,
Stand the world on it's ear.
Set it spinning,
That'll be just the beginning!

Curtain up!
Light the Lights!
You got nothin' to hit but the heights.
You'll be swell,
You be great.
I can tell,
Just you wait.
That lucky star I talk about is due.
Honey, everything's coming up roses for me and for you!

You can do it,
All you need is a hand.
We can do it.
Mama is gonna see to it!

Curtain up!
Light the lights!
We got nothin' to hit but the heights.
I can tell,
Wait and see.
There's the bell,
Follow me.
And nothin's gonna stop us 'till we're through!

Honey, everything's coming up roses and daffodills.
Everything's coming up sunshine and Santa Clause.
Everything's gotta be bright lights and lollipops.
Everything's coming up roses for me and for you!

<another extremely gay moment brought to you by oxymoron>

1. Dammit, I'm gonna give a bump to ol' Eth...
I know she had a vibrato you could camp in, but she still deserves her props.

2. Because of your Merm post
I went and bought Liza's Pet Shop Boys produced disco CD, Results, which features the scariest version of a Sondheim song EVER!

6. Personally, I prefer "I want you now" to "Loosing my mind"
"I want you now" is a wonderfully creepy song

When the sun goes down
I open up my window for hours and I watch
Every passing stranger
Every early shadow, I wonder if it's you
Always I'm dreaming, and recklessly scheming
How to get you back in my life
I want you now
And I'm prepared to take chances
I've told you how
I won't take no for an answer
Every empty evening
The sailors sit downstairs, drinking 'til they fight
Shout and raucous laughter
Sounds of breaking glass shatter through the night
The men from the circus are juggling with knives
The acrobats fall just like you
I want you now
And I'm prepared to take chances
I've told you how
I won't take no for an answer
I won't take no for an answer
Now you're miles away
'Cross the sea, out of reach, unheard
I've cried to you for help
But the wind blows away all my words
You sat there once beside me
Where the actors play, you kissed me every night
When you left you promised
You'd soon be back to stay, and it would be alright
Now I'm abandoned, my letters unanswered
Got to get you back in my life
I want you now (I want you now)
And I'm prepared to take chances
I've told you how (I've told you how)
I won't take no for an answer
I want you now (I want you now)
And I'm prepared to take chances
I've told you how (I've told you how)
I won't take no for an answer

7. I LOVE that album!
I worked in a record store when it came out. I used play the shit out of it just to piss off my co-workers.
