I watch "All the President's Men" and Nixon resigns again.
I remember watching his resignation speech and being terrified he was going to do his "I'm not a quitter" riff and stay to the bitter end.
I was working at National Airport that night, and I have NEVER seen that airport so dead for the few minutes of that speech. Everyone was watching it (we had a TV in the break room directly behind the ticket counter) and I'm almost positive flights did not pull away from the gate while he was speaking. It was as if the whole place was holding its breath.
6. Nothing personal, but NOT WITHOUT MY DAUGHTER sucked
The writers of that screenplay dug out every cliche they could think of. Some of the dialogue actually made me cringe.
With films like NOT WITHOUT MY DAUGHTER and AN EYE FOR AN EYE, Sally Field's career has taken a depressing nosedive since she won the Oscar for NORMA RAE. What a shame....
