Reminder: Food Shelves in dire need of donations this time of year!

If you're headed for grocery shopping for Thanksgiving this week, why not pick up extra non-perishable goods for your nearest food shelf? Many stores have a receptacle near the exit, of course there is Salvation Army, women's shelters, and others.

My store had big discounts on many canned/boxed goods today.

1. The food banks in our areas still need turkeys

Many of the stores have frozen turkeys on special. I got 2 for about $15 and took them to a food bank yesterday. There is a definite need right now.

2. I just dropped off 3 bags of groceries, but didn't think about turkeys!

While I was there, another man brought in 2 turkeys. Thanks for the reminder.
