1. Was it the title cut...
or another song off the album?
I'm obsessed with it and have been listening to it once a day for over twenty years.

2. Yes
I sent an email in to ask who made the call, no response yet.

It was the part at the very beginning of the loooong solo.

4. I wonder what Verlaine thinks about this....
I guess they chose the music because it's by "Television" and they are on "television...." I doubt that there's any deeper reason than that.

In a way, this kinda sucks. I'm a huge Television fan (anybody got bootlegs?) and don't like to hear music that sublime used for commercial reasons, or to make a corporate media outlet increase their "hip" quotient even as they cover up and spin the news....

5. I'm of Two Minds

Anytime you flip on a radio, the only reason the stations play any song is for commercial exploitation.

Tom & Richard and all never made a dime in BMI radio licence fees, I'm betting. At least they'll get something from this.

Added plus: this song wasn't produced with the intention of being a radio hit anyway, no one can accuse them of whoring for TV background music, unlike Moby.

I don't have any bootlegs, but I have the Blow-Up which suits me well enough.

7. "Blow Up" was the first Television album I ever heard....
I was totally obsessed with it....the guitar solos were so incredible, I couldn't stop listening to it. I was actaully disappointed with the studio versions when I encountered them at last; everything was too slow and too slick. Now, of course, I love the whole catalog (well, maybe not that reunion CD from 92....)

Okay, maybe I'm being a grumpy gus; you're right, it's not as if Verlaine and Lloyd are observing this from their yachts....

10. If there was any justice in the world...
Verlaine and Lloyd would have yachts.

12. Yeah You Are Grumpy
My intro to Television actually came from Siouxsie & the Banshees cover of "Little Johnny Jewel." Flash forward to 1992 and I totally dug that album, and went backwards from there.

6. Interesting

I don't usually watch CNN, but left it on there earlier for some reason. I'm not watching it, it's watching me.

'Elevation's' great. I wondered if the U2 are in anyway tipping their hats to it on their tune of the same name. Edge always sounded like a Verlaine fan to me.

9. Yeah...
I can hear it. I always liked Richard Lloyd's stuff with Matthew Sweet. He tears it up on the "Altered Beast" album.

15. Remember the Bongos?
New Jersey band. One of their guys (James Mastro) went on to form H & H Show. Had alt.country leanings, but not so No Depression.
