In 4th or 5th grade, one of my younger brothers introduced me to the 'Hertz Donut':

Brother: "Wanna Hertz Donut?"
Me: "What's that?"
Brother: <Hits my upper arm as hard as he could> "Hurts, don't it?"

I responded with the tried and true 'Indian burn' :evilgrin:

Another of my younger brothers used to grab your second and third fingers and pull them apart as hard as he could. Inventive little tyke he was. Today: a math teacher in a private middle school.

He was a pro snowboarder for a while, a chef, and now he manages an enormous organic farm.

4. I Put Up With That Crap for 10 Years

Ages 6-16. No choice, I was told to tough it out.

There's nothing quite like growing up in a home you can't feel safe in, unless no one else is home.

The brother who put me through that, we talk about once a year, when I drag myself up north for a visit. Two years ago I brought it out and he apologized, sincerely, for his behavior. But I still don't trust him. And I don't really trust any man to not turn into an abusive fuckhead.

Yeah, that shit's all kinds of fun.
