Not an inspiring beginning, I agree - our local train station with very overcast conditions. Shortly after I took this photo it began drizzling, as I prepared to step on board the train:
But, Melbourne is renowned for having fluctuating weather patterns - some say you can experience four seasons in one day. After getting off at Flinders St. Station, the overcast skies had cleared up considerably:
Crossing over to the other side of the platform:
Flinders St. Station, as seen from outside:
Federations Square is a recent development. The architecture is amazing:
A busy intersection, St Pauls Cathedral figures into prominence. An amazing sight, especially at night ... notice the green trees, they line Swanston St., which is where the next photos focus on.
Swanston St., evidence of the earlier shower can be seen, also:
This grabbed my attention, although the sharpness suffered due to my lack of composure brought on by eagerness:

OK, these are from another day. An element of familiarity with what you see, eh:
Observing the Yarra River:
South Bank:

OK, the place you see here is Thornbury, a Melbournian suburb north of the city. I went there with my parents as my grandmother grew up here. What stood out to me where the houses and trees. Old houses tend to carry more charm and personality than what you see today:
After exiting the train station:
Behind the fence, a primary school:
My memory isn't perfect, but this may be the street where my grandmother grew up. My mother was fretting as she didn't want me to use up all the memory on the digital camera until we found the house itself:
Next, we come across a busier street:
Or maybe this was the street ... ? Not sure:
We found a cat at this place. It can't be seen here, but ...
Here:
On the way back home:

I'm feeling apprehensive. I hope this isn't overkill ... lol
This next collection is from our town/suburb, Edithvale.
Front view of our house:
Our street:
Nearby, Berry Avenue:
In this place, a house once stood ... earlier in the year, it burned down:
A shortcut:
You find this trail, used by many bike riders, not long after emerging from the shortcut:
View of the wetlands, observing from inside the bird hive:
Outside ...
Walking back home, I notice a football match in progress:

Almost done, I promise. lol
This collection are from our neighbouring suburb to the south, Chelsea:
A metlink train going through a crossing:
Another, approaching Chelsea station:
Beach shot:
Another:
A dog playing fetch:
I like the mood of this photo, the sky ...

The last batch, down at the beach one evening:
Well, I hope you enjoy them.
