So, I accidentally found out that the EX is staging one of our collaborations without my permission and without attribution. When I tried to speak to him, he danced around like oil on a hot griddle and wouldn't deal with it. I gave him every chance in the world to just be a person and he wouldn't or couldn't pull it off.
So, I hired a lawyer.
Then, I notified the theater. The manager hemmed and hawed and it looks like she decided she wants to sell four tickets to pay for all those posters that misrepresent my work then stay within the law. And, it's only going to be four tickets because the promo was so bad even *I* only heard about it because someone misdirected an email. Geezuz.
And get this: they're even using a blurb I wrote in their promotion! Not only didn't he write this script, he didn't even write the promo, I did!
Sleaze, horrible sleaze. And to top it off, there are about five other people who know about this and who are our so called friends and who are working the show. The director, the presenter, the guy taping the show. :wtf: is THAT?
Sleaze. In all the years I've been collaborating with other writers, nothing like this has ever happened. A handshake was too much, already. I guess it was my turn.
Now, I have to get someone in there tomorrow night to witness this travesty. I'll probably have to pay them and buy them a ticket into the bargain.
It's going to be very interesting to see what these folks have to say for themselves when they get hauled into court. One of them is a goddamn motivational speaker, fer Christ's sake.
What is the matter with people. :spank::spank::spank:
