1. Hooray!
I've been waiting for this.

I just bought Helen Mirren's Elizabeth I, I have Glenda Jackson's Elizabeth R, and of course, Cate's Elizabeth. I can't make up my mind which is best... or even if there needs to be a "best Bess." All are fabulous, but I eagerly await Cate's sequel.

12. This woman can pull off anything
including hair color. She is one of the best actresses to come along in a long time.

3. I hadn't heard
I loved Cate Blanchett & Joseph Fiennes in Elizabeth. And I love Clive Owen. Hopefully this won't take forever to appear in the theaters here. :bounce:

7. Jan. is usually when they put out the blah movies
It'll probably be next fall, since it's a serious Oscar type of movie. :)

9. Oh Yay!
I watched one of the BBC series "Elizabeth"s w/Helen Mirren & Jeremy Irons. It was great too. But the one with Cate Blanchett was gorgeous to watch and I'd really love to see a sequel. I've always been very interested in Mary QofScots, Bloody Mary, Elizabeth and of course Hank VIII and spent several years of my life just reading about them. It doesn't bother me that these films aren't historically accurate. I just enjoy the spectacle.

10. You must see Glenda Jackson's version
It's now available on DVD--about 9 hours worth of film. There is an interview with her on the last disk. It's worth watching just to hear her comments on Margaret Thatcher.
