Does anyone else have a foreign object lodged in them right now?
I have been having this weird pain above my knee on the inside of my thigh that has started to not just hurt, but feel very strange, like something is scraping my femur when it gets pushed on.

I brought this up to my mom a few weeks ago and she reminded me what it was. When I was 7 or 8 we moved into a new house in Long Beach, CA. In the back yard was a Limon tree (lemon and lime trees spliced at the trunk, it produced very tasty limons).

Our first day there I went out back to climb the tree and discovered, the hard way, that the type of lemon tree used produced thick, hard thorns that were about 3 inches long. I slipped at some point and drove one of the thorns deep into my thigh to where neither my mom or dad could extract it. It has, apparently, been there ever since.

It seems to me that most intrusive objects of this kind are slowly worked out of the body. However, my body is apparently so attached to this thorn that it has drawn it deeper and deeper until, now, it is resting against the bone just above my knee.

I was thinking about surgery to have it extracted, but the pain is not that bad, and the expense of such a thing (even with insurance) makes me think that I would rather just live with it.

Anyone else out there have something stuck in the that has been there most of their lives?

1. I have a thorn that has been stuck inside my foot.
And I have never gotten it out. Sometimes when I walk for an extended period of time I can really feel it.

9. Stepped on a rose thorn when I was five.
Parents said it was nothing and never got it out. Yeah. Well, after the skin grew back over it they realized that it wasn't just a little bit of dirt. Ouch.

10. My folks tried to get mine out
But apparently i was wildly violent every time they touched it due to the pain it caused. They took me to the doctor and apparently I treated him the same way. he said it would eventually work its way out, apparently not.

I don't recall any of the incident, which is weird since I was 7 or 8. It must have hurt a great deal.

6. Why is it
everyone I know who has a pellet or BB lodged in them says it got there exactly that way :)

Is it a lead air gun pellet? If so, don't you worry about heavy metal poisoning?

3. I've got a BB in my arm.
My brother shot me with a CO2 BB pistol when I was a kid. It's still in there. Doesn't hurt or anything, though.

7. I have a buddy
who has a BB stuck in his forehead! it feels kinda creepy.

I told him I could get an exacto knife and remove it for him. He threatened me with painful injury if I tried.

8. Come to think of it
I have a chunk of pencil lead in my ankle. Much the same as you it looks like a little grayish freckle.

My girlfriend in my senior year of high school stabbed me with a mechanical pencil. It wasn't malicious (necessarily), but it seems to me I said something either crude or insensitive to provoke the attack. I just don't remember what.

11. Scorpion stinger in my toe
It's been there since I was 4. I wonder if it will ever work its way out? I had never even been stung by a bee when I accidentally stepped on it in some tall grass. Did you know there are scorpions in Minnesota? I didn't, but I'm not likely ever to forget it.
