Just bought the Schick razor with 4 blades (I recommend it)
much nicer shave than the Gillete's Mach 3. No need to go a second at all.

1. How much are THOSE refills? I can't bring myself to pay for the 3-blades
at $7+ for three...

I like the shave, but that's just too much.

2. don't know but more or less the same as Gillete
it's a big ripoff but we have no choice. Eventually their prices will match.

4. Me too.
I've been the victim of "early adopter syndrome" before. Fool me once, uh... something. :)

5. FOUR blades?
Two was plenty. I can barely tell the difference between two and three.

What does FOUR gain you?

This is a hoax, right?

8. nope not a hoax
definitely a closer shave. I can tell by touching the face and all I needed is one round.

7. no shaving cream?
damn, lucky bastard :). That's what I hate about shaving, have to wash my face again after taking a shower. I almost bought an electric one read from many people that it's not the same close shave.

13. with the Mach3 i got from the shower to the sink

run some hot water for rinsing, and shave... bang bang.

i couldn't believe it. and no foam needed. even DRY it does a hell of a job in a pinch!

11. I hated the Mach 3 so I don't know what I'd do with
4 blades. I went back to using 2 blades. I get a closer more even shave. I have a goatee so 2 blades makes it easier to shape it. :-)

14. Just 'how much' better is it than my disposable Safeway specials?
So what if I go over the same place six times ... it takes me a whole 90 seconds longer in the shower, and saves my 80% of the cost.

15. Is it better than my Gillette Sensor?
I'm not giving that up if I don't have to.

19. I'm happy with the Sensor too...but I'm looking for something...
for a closer shave. My skin is really sensitive and normally I have to wait one day between shaves.

17. I'm partial to the Schick something-or-other
I don't know what it's called cuz the packaging is gone. It's a disposable with 3 blades, a lubricant strip, and a charcoal-grey-and-turquoise handle. The turquoise part is for better gripping. I'm only on my second one and they seem to last for months. I hope they still make them. They are significantly better than the Mach3, which would cut me every once in a while.
