Looking for some software
I downloaded Windows Movie Maker and really like it's ease of use and editing capabilities. The problem is, every time I try to insert a video effect or transition the damn program shuts down on me. I have tried reinstalling it, but it still does the same.
What is out there comparable to Movie Maker? The cheaper the better.

1. Try download.com
A search for "movie maker" turns up a bunch of stuff:

I personally don't have any experience with movie making/editing software but there are enduser reviews on many of the titles.

2. I use Movie Maker 2 no problemo. I'ts a great program.
Have you run your windows updater lately? Installed directx9?

What is the speed of your processor and do you have enough ram?

These are the biggest factor I think.

3. I forgot the most important thing!
I think you have to be running winxp to get the best results from movie maker 2.

4. I'm running XP
Edited on Fri Dec-26-03 04:33 PM by Tripper11
Home edition, I have a 1.6Ghz processor with 512 MB RAM...I should have enough to run it easily. I have all Windows updates installed and running fine.

Edited to add : Everything seems to work fine in the program except when I try ti insert transition effects between my pictures.

7. I found the solution!!!!!!
I wanted to bump this for anyone who may have had the same problem.

In order for the program to run properly I had to uninstall the Nimo Codecs from my sysyem. Once that was done, the problem was fixed.
Look out family, movies coming your way now!
