I'm watching News World International, and my composure was just shattered by an ad for "the ultimate worship collection," i.e. three CDs of the most banal, over-produced, pop-musicky "contemporary Christian music," which, in my experience, is used mostly by right-wing fundy churches that don't allow secular pop music and so let their people rock out to torch songs for Jesus.

There was one excerpt that sounded for all the world like "My Heart Will Go On."

But they kept listing one song as "Angus Dei."

Newsflash: It's "Agnus Dei," which is Latin for "lamb of God."

Those poor "contemporary Christians" are singing about some Scotsman who belongs to God.

8. Christian Heavy Metal is even more of a joke.

My best friend in high school used to call it "Moshing for Jesus." It became a running joke with us: "Hey, man, have you moshed for Jesus today?"

I have no objection to Christian music, but this is just ridiculous. "They're singing about Jesus, but it's cool 'cuz it's got a good beat."

PS I think that's the correct listing of words for their acronym. If that's not it exactly, it's pretty close.
