So my friends want me to wear a costume for a party
First off, I am not a fan of Halloween. I have never been a fan, but I don't hate it either. Last year my friends had a party and it was at their house. They gave me shit because I wasn't going to dress up, but I wanted to go because I like food, beer and women.

Well this year one of them are having their party with his girlfriend and they are having it at a Greek club somewhere because she is Greek and he wants to be. They keep asking if I am going and I say I am, but yesterday I said I wasn't wearing a costume. That wasn't the right answer I guess.

I am 42 years old and not into playing dress up. I don't think it is cute when adults dress up in corny outfits and I sure the hell wouldn't think it is cute if I have to dress up. I'm not bitchin' here, I'm just wondering why adults think it's fun to wear costumes?

I'm going to the party, and I will take some shit I'm sure, but what's the deal with all of this?

And no..I'm not a party pooper.... As I said, I like food, beer and women. :)

1. sometimes it's fun to play around with one's image
that's why I like Halloween. And that's why I always dress up when we have a party. You can step outside of your real world for a few hours. It's fun.

that being said, when I have a party, I don't care if others dress up, although I love it when they do!

2. You can go really dressed to the nines
That could be construed as a costume. Plus you'll be the best-dressed man there.

4. But that is like dressing up
I'm so bad that I don't want to doe only because they will make me wear a suit in my casket. I would be uncomfortable the whole time. :)

13. I understand
I dress up for Ren Fare's and Halloween and other time i can get away with it... but my Dad, no way no how.. get gets a laugh when other do it but he would never.. My mom figured out he was never really encouraged to have a imagination and as such never really dreamed of being something else (pirate, cowboy, what not)... It is ok if you don't, just enjoy yourself and laugh at others...;-)...

14. My friends throw a great Halloween party every year.
The hostess doesn't as you to bring beverages, food or anything else. The only thing she asks is that you come in a costume. I'm not a costume person either, but it's the least I can do for my friends' hospitality.
