I'm a good little atheist....
Last night I went to work early so that my boss and one of my more relgious co-workers could leave (my boss) or have the night off (my co-worker). The holiday holds no special meaning for me and I figured this way I wouldn't have to buy them a gift. <grin>

Of course now I'm tired after nearly 12 hours...but there's no group I'd rather spend time with...

1. Oh Yes There Is!
I believe you have some adorable cats, including two kittens, some darling dogs and Paul. Surely you can't prefer US to THEM!

2. Paul is at work and, as for the 'kids'...
Dot is all over the keyboard. Cider is chasing Stars tail. Cat is being crotchety. Misty is laying next to my chair. Heidi is sleeping on the couch and the rabbit is just sleeping.

None of them are making for real good company today.

3. Okay, Then! We Rock! (For Now)
Sounds like Misty is being companiable at least.

When did you get a rabbit and where are the pics? Rabbits are so cute, and they're such nice little guys (usually; we had a bad-ass buck when I was a kid, but he was still cute).

5. I've Never Claimed to Not Be Slow on the Uptake
Sigh. Yes I missed that you had a rabbit!

6. I am an atheist and I celebrate Christmas.
Is that bad? I had a friend last night (Jewish) tell me I was disingenuous to celebrate a Christian holiday and be an atheist. I told him I don't celebrate the religious part. I celebrate the secular idea of gift giving.

(He always tells people Merry Christian instead of Merry Christmas to remind people that not everyone celebrates the holiday.)

7. Tell him you're celebrating Winter Solstice
...the REAL reason for the season, predating Christianity by centuries if not millenia.

8. Not at all!
Feel free to celebrate how you see fit. There is nothing wrong with how you choose to celebrate a holiday.

I don't celebrate much more than giving the prerequisite gift to my parents. Other than that I would rather give some of my time so that the people I work with can celebrate how they'd like.

10. That's cool
Remember the people that lit the candles for the Jews so they wouldn't have to work on their "sabath"?...... Such non-sense!
