4. no, just fanboy bull$hit
the same type of "rumor" that Josh Holloway was going to play Gambit. The Evangeline as WW thing is a degree less unimaginative/type and stunt-casting. Bound to happen when you're dealing with these genre fans.

But she's only 5' 5", and her movie debut should really be something less high profile and demanding. It's a billion times easier to destroy your movie career with a big action/scifi movie than an art movie. Which is why it's so ridiculous that people who star in Geek movies never get the "bravery" props.

5. I haven't been following the hub bub
much...there are a ton of fanboys/trolls on imdb.com, and I only go to the Superman Returns/The Dark Knight/Smallville boards...the infighting of the fanboys/trolls is really effing tiresome...its hard to read whats true, and whats complete bs...I have no idea who should play WW...I am a fan of Monica Belluci, or Trinity...aka Carrie Ann Moss...

6. All I know re: casting is Joss Whedon said he was doing an origin story
and that it would be a younger actress (probably early 20's).

7. its a tall order to cast for WW
though...in all honesty, who can you see playing her? Hopefully Joss will pick a good unknown...although I'm no buffy the vampire slayer fan, he did do all right on the show...

11. SMG would be quite good -- she or Jessica Alba
But SMG is a better actress.

12. True. All Jessica Alba's got goin for her
is her indisputable hotness. Although she is slowly getting better at acting.

17. After seeing "The Grudge", I won't be seeing SMG much....
In anything. She and her pub hubby are two of the worst actors around nowadays imo. Monica Belluci seems like an interesting choice though.

18. SMG certainly isn't one of the worst actors around
She isn't Kate Winslet, but she's far from the worst.

I thought she was good in The Grudge.

10. Actually "discovered" on the street
Evangeline Lilly, born in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta in 1979, was discovered on the streets of Kelowna, British Columbia by the famous Ford modeling agency. Although she initially decided to pass on a modeling career, she went ahead and signed with Ford anyway, to help pay for her University of British Columbia tuition and expenses.

16. Yeah, but she's going to marry a hobbit.
So says the Sydney Morning Herald. Dominic Monaghan (however it's spelled).

The Wonder Woman part is going to Nathan Fillion.
