3. Yeah, adding one depressant on top of another is generally not safe.

6. Liver damage
is what the ER physician told me. Mixing vikes and alcohol can lead to permanent liver damage.

A few days later, I had a vike and a scotch. But scotch isn't alcohol, it's heavenly nectar.

So I guess it depends on the beer.

7. The thing is...
.. it depends on the quantities of each. Vikes have acetamenaphen (Tylenol) which is very toxic to the liver. Alcohol is also toxic. When mixed, these two have a synergistic toxic effect on the liver.

If someone took a couple vics, say 500mg each of Tylenol, and then drank 2-3 beers, there's not likely to be a problem. If someone tooks several vics over the course of a day and then drank a six-pack - they could be asking for trouble.

9. As somebody who is on a standing prescription for Vicodin, please
don't do this. Vicodin is not a "fun" drug to be on all the time, and mixing it with alcohol is not a good idea. Look at the bottle. One, two depressants is not a good thing. Two, you will rip up your stomach and be sorry in the end. :(
