Stouts & Hefeweisse for Christmas!
The sweetest girlfriend in the world bought me (among other things) a selection of exotic beers wrapped in an improvised six-pack with personalized gift-wrapping. Let me review the samplings so far…

Rogue Ales
Shakespeare Stout
– made from oats with a – and I quote – “mellow chocolate aftertaste.” It’s true, by god. Superb flavor, and heavy like a good meal. Oxygen fixing cap, Whatever TF that means…

Weihenstephaner
Kristall Weissbier
– I love this beer! Weihenstephaner’s Hefeweisse is even better. I’ll never understand why Americans love pilsners when they could have hefeweisse.

Rogue Ales
Dead Guy Ale
– Much fruitier than their Shakespeare Stout, with almost a raspberry tang, but still very earthy and with a predominantly malty flavor. Fucking superb bier…

Still to be sampled:
Rogue Ales’ Morimoto Hazelnut Signature Ale – supposed to be nutty and malty. One thing I love about Rogue biers is that they come in a standard 1 pint and 6 ounce size. :)

Bombay Breweries’ Taj Mahal Lager

And last, a pint of Sapporo – oddly enough, I’ve never tried a Sapporo.

Merry Criffin to all and Happy New Bier!. :toast:

1. What's the difference between a beer and a bier?
I like beer, too. But any old thing will do with me, so I'm not used to all that fancy stuff you are talking about.

2. Bier is just the german spelling
It's my small attempt at being pretentious.

3. I live in a state where one can't purchase alcohol
on Jesus' birthday.

Thank god I was visited by the spirits yesterday and reminded!

4. Pop a beer for Christ's sake!
Ben Franklin said beer was proof that god loves us and wants us to be happy. I agree.
