Any DU'ers from India-I have a question
I was married in somewhat traditional Indian Garb. You know the long shirt and huge pants. It was black with gold piping. I think I looked pretty damn good. Well anywho I am going to a traditional Indian wedding soon. I am wondering if I can wear the garb to the wedding. I am just going I am not in the wedding or anything. Please dont ask me how to pronounce it either. I just call em jammies

The weddings we have been to the men have always worn western garb (except for the groom).

I believe what you are taking about is (at least for women) are called salwar kameez. I think for men they are called kurtas. These are great for parties, but at a wedding you will stand out like a sore thum--I'd advise against it.

Called the Mr. on this issue; he agrees with me.

On edit: I know some great sources if onterested. I LOVE salwars, they are soooo comfortable.
