Does This Bother You Too?
Everyday at 5:00 PM, this woman pulls up in front of the office building where I work to pick up her husband. She gets out of the car and moves over to the passenger side so her husband can drive. Not only is this inane, but also illegal because there is no stopping allowed on this street during rush hour. Is this guy afraid to be a passenger while the "little woman" is driving? It just strikes me as rather sexist and ridiculous.

That's all. Rant off.

2. Maybe she just doesn't like to drive.
Or maybe she's a bad driver, and her husband refuses to be in the car with her.

Or maybe he likes to drive to unwind.

It's certainly old-fashioned, but I don't think there's anything necessarily wrong or sexist about it. There might be, sure - but we really don't know.

The only thing I find annoying is that she's one of those self-centered shits who insists on parking in frot of doors and places where people aren't supposed to park because they're too goddamned lazy to walk a few feet; like the jackasses who park their cars along the curb in front of the grocery store, where it is clearly marked "no parking" because "they're only running into the store to drop off the mail or pay a bill". Fuck that - go park in a stall, you shitbag.

6. Lots Of Parking On The Side Of The Building
But she insists on holding up traffic on the outside lane everyday while she and her husband play musical chairs (carseats?). There are at least 3 signs on every block of this street that clearly state that is no stopping allowed between 3:30 and 6:00 PM.

7. My brother-in-law...
claims to get "car sick" unless he is driving. Personally I think it's just a control thing.

To make matters worse he thinks that the rules of the road should apply to everyone except him. Lanes, turn signals, traffic lights and signs are there for other people to use and for him to ignore.

8. Without knowing either, I couldn't answer.
Could be anything from sexism to her being an unlicensed driver. Could be that she hates to drive with him around because he complains too much. Could be his car and he just loves to drive. Could be that she wants him to drive so she can eat lunch. Who knows? Life's too short for me to live other people's lives for them.
