As a father with a daughter and an administrator
in an elementary where I am seeing girls as young as second grade trying to imitate glamour models, I want as many girls to see this as well as boys.

1. I saw that on TV yesterday, and I was very happy for it!
I hope the campaign actually does some good.

Also in good news, many of the fashion people are rebelling against using the superthin anorexic models, and want to get back to more normal looking models.

3. You meant those women that are actually size 12+?
Yeah, that would be nice.

5. Thanks
I've seen the before and after photos of models, but this shows how they elongate her neck and make her eyes larger, too...interesting! I always wondered how some people could have eyes like a cat...how naive of me to think they didn't alter their images to that extreme.

8. When I was 11, I didn't know I was good at math.

Or that I had a facility for languages, or good with animals (including people) or that i could reverse engineer just about anything and enjoy it. I didn't know I was good in emergencies or that my memory was often photographic. But I knew how much I weighed. And I knew every point of difference between me and the latest cover of "Seventeen" and these would nearly paralyze me sometimes when I thought of walking my visibly flawed self into homeroom in the morning.

When I was 11, 40% of all fourth grade girls in San Francisco were on a diet. I was in 7th grade and looked forward to old age so I could eat a full meal.

I want my nieces to know something else, and on full bellies. :)
