My Bluegrass Band is Playing for (gasp) TRENT LOTT!
The money's too good to pass up. I plan to donate my share to Harold Ford's Senate campaign. Does that make it OK?

3. Ack!!!
I ran into him in Oxford at a tire store years ago. The mechanic was helping me until Mr. Lott paraded in, cut in front of me and they both ignored me. But, he's SPECIAL.

Money talks. I'd do the gig. :(

4. Do a good job and make some contacts
Your performance is not going to have any effect on the election.

6. Think I'll Do "White House Blues"
Smirk is in the White House, doin' his best (to screw us)
Reagan's in the graveyard, takin' his rest ...

Awwww, don't it strike fear into your heart!

Q: What six words will you never hear at a bluegrass festival?
A: "Is that the banjo player's Ferrari?"

7. Suggested songs for the set list
"Draft Dodger Rag" and "Here's to the State of Mississippi" by Phil Ochs

"Talking Union Blues" by Pete Seeger

"Up Yours Sideways, Mr. Lott" by gratuitous (no tune, but lots of screaming)

8. Good suggestions!
I think I KNOW that third one! As Big Mon used to say, "It's a pahrful (powerful) tune."

Also thought about "The I-Feel-Like-I'm-Fixin'-To-Die Rag." Makes a zippy little bluegrass tune ... and so appropriate.
