How would you feel about a "Republican = Undemocratic" bumper sticker?
Edited on Tue Oct-17-06 08:19 AM by undisclosedlocation
Nice. Simple. Undeniably accurate. It's even remotely possible it might make some of these yoyos think. Whatchasay?

(Sorry for the unLoungelike politicism of the topic, but it's also a vanity since I thought of it, which is the other thing the Lounge is for. Feel free to alert if you like)

1. Great idea.
I wouldn't put it on my car, but that's only because I'd never put a bumper sticker of any kind on my car. It's a sticker I'd like to see on other cars, though.

3. Thanks. I was just about to have to post a reply to myself that would go
"Young man, sleep IS an opinion." -- Carl Sandburg (or GB Shaw, or Mulla Nasrudin, or...)

Of course, there's still only the two replies, so it's still fairly appropriate.:)

2. It wouldn't make them think
They'd think, "Well, of course a Republican isn't a Democrat! Wow, those Defeatocrats sure are morans!" If they could read words that large, that is.

However, other Dems would think it was a riot.

4. I don't like it...
For one, I don't think it's entirely accurate, and for us to imply that because someone holds different ideas on how to lead our country forward that they are somehow 'undemocratic'...well that's just silly.

Yes, the neocons that are in power NOW leave much to be desired. The republican party of TODAY may not inspire great feelings of justice and democracy....

But a broad brush statement that says 'we're good - you're bad' is only going to rally the opposition that is presently waning, and perhaps turn off those not-so-avid potential democrats.

You asked for opinions!

5. Somebody else eviscerated the Bill of Rights, eliminated habeas corpus,
created "free speech zones" and installed easily hackable voting machines which by the way they own? I think that would be the Republicans. Still, thanks for your opinion certainly, and you're certainly right that Joe Average, who doesn't like thinking that hard, wouldn't bother figuring out all that the phrase implies. On the other hand, if somebody doesn't start stimulating Joe's thinking processes, he's going to be on the next bunk from us at Gitmo.
