And I'm guessing most of you never heard of the song.

3. Are you serious?
I had it as an earworm yesterday. Must've been thinking about "Married... With Children."

9. The late, great TWA here.
Hung it up in '99.
Howdy.

10. Howdy
So sorry the way things went for TWA. Nothing is for certain in this business, that's for certain.

Are you glad you left it, and what do you do now?

11. Well, PBGC is paying my meager pension now.
I 'retired' at 58 1/2.
Just got damned tired (as in FATIGUED!) of the commute from PNS to LGA and then the cab ride to JFK.
And back.

I was very lucky.
In '89 TWA got a contract to supply crews to NCA - Nippon Cargo.
I jumped at it.
In '94 they lost the contract and recalled me to TWA. I said 'no thanks' and took very early retirement (hence the meager pension) and stayed with the Japanese for another 5 years.
Best 10 years of my whole career.

Have some retired friends at Delta. Things aren't looking too good for their pensions.
Welcome to the club.

Now I take it easy.
;-)

12. Heh...I knew the song BEFORE "Married, With Children"
And personally, I think they go together like...well...DU and hewhomustnotbenamed.

Best way to wreck a good relationship is to stamp a government seal on it. But that's just me.

:hi:

13. Chicken and waffles...
It shouldn't work, but it does...

(And yes, I've heard the song, but I was shocked when I found out it wasn't just the MwC theme song.)

16. I can imagine it works both ways...
Monotony is as bad in the dining room as it is in a marriage, right? ;)

17. Al Bundy a man of the people
"You think I'm a loser? Because I have a stinking job that I hate, a family that doesn't respect me, and a whole city that curses the day I was born? Well, that may mean loser to you, but let me tell you something. Every day when I wake up in the morning, I know it's not going to get any better until I go back to sleep. So I get up. I have my watered-down Tang and my still-frozen Pop Tart. I get in my car with no gas, no upholstery, and six more payments. I fight honking traffic just for the privilege of putting cheap shoes onto the cloven hooves of people like you. I'll never play football like I wanted to. I'll never know the touch of a beautiful woman. And I'll never know the joy of driving through the city without a bag over my head. But I'm not a loser. Because, despite it all, me and every other guy who'll never be what they wanted to be, is out there, being what we don't want to be, forty hours a week, for life. And the fact that I didn't put a gun in my mouth, you pudding of a woman, makes me a winner!"
