7. Put them on E-Bay and show them the auction.
Tell them that if they get on your last nerve you're taking the best offer!

(But only if they're old enough to know you're not serious, and can take the message and see the humor.)

18. lol
that is so funny. Might be interesting to see how much you can get for them. Have to make sure it's obvious the bidding is their asking price, not what you'd pay to get rid of them.

9. I had my kids believing that a local outlet store was the orphanage
I'd threaten them with it - "That's it! We're going to the orphanage!" and they'd wail and cry and promise to be good.

Then my damn sister took them there to shop one day and the cat was out of the bag. :grr: Damn meddling woman!*

*(before anyone accuses me of child abuse, the above story is a complete exaggeration - they still think it's the orphanage :hide: )

23. My son thought that 7/11 was an orphanage for about 2 years...
He asked his daddy one night where they were going, and MrG said,"The orphanage..." They stopped at 7-11 and got a slurpee. For two years he would beg his daddy...in public..."Please Daddy! Can't we please go to the orphanage? I wanna go to the orphanage!"

God, us parents are twisted. :hi:

We won't get cold weather here until end of November into December and then it's nothing like what you all deal with.

66. I'm going the other route... I'm going to run away from home
My 19 year-old son and his friend who lives w/ us have been more than just a little remiss about doing their fair share of the chores, and I've really kind of had it.

I had a co-worker call my house today and, pretending to be a prespective landlord, leave a message on the answering machine that the apartment I called about (lol) is indeed available Dec 1 and yes, pets are ok.

Maybe if my son believes I'm about to jump ship he'll straighten up and fly right.

If he doesn't I can always back up the threat and actually move out.
