toothache from hell and my son's wedding is this weekend.
I just got back from the dentist a while ago. I had tooth break over the weekend and it began to hurt really bad last night..keeping me up until 4:30am.

Of course, it's beginning to get infected..so I got a script for antibiotics. They gave me a script for pain pills too.

Crap..why does stuff like this happen now? My son's angry saying I should have taken care of it earlier (I had twinges before the weekend breakage)..little does he know how badly we're hurting financially..even though we've told him over and over. All I tried to do what put off the dentist bill until after the wedding.

Do you ever have a day where you just feel like crying? Today's my day

2. Damn. I hope your dentist can take care of this
quickly and easily.

I'm sorry for the pain, and the timing. I hope you're better soon. I wish your son was a bit more understanding.

4. Thanks ThomCat,
The Dentist said they won't do anything until after the wedding. They think I may be able to stop taking the pain pills for the wedding if the antibiotics work. Then it's either a root canal/crown or pulling it.

$1800 vs $200..

5. This just plain sucks; and wet noodle lashes to your son.
Stephanie and I went to visit my grandparents in KS last week; we understand that they are getting hit with heavy medical bills....but, the other grandkids are stunned...shocked....that they aren't getting their usual birthday, Christmas...etc...checks from Gramma and Grandpa.

Your meds will kick in, and the day will be just gorgeous---

6. Thanks JanMichael,
Wet noodle lashes! Now that the vicoden has kicked in I may just tell my son that when he gets home!

Sorry to hear about your grandparents medical bills. It's awful that medical and dental bills can put such a burden on families. If it's ok, I'll keep your grandparents in my prayers.

8. One word: VICODIN
that's some good shit and it'll kick the pain right out.

Sorry you're having to go through this right now.

Blessings to you, your son, and your whole family. I hope the wedding is everything you want it to be.

Don't worry, it'll all work out.

9. Thanks Shine,
I'm sure the day will go well. I think my son is having more than a bit of jitters right now. When he gets nervous, he gets cranky.

The vicodin has definitely made me feel better.

10. If you can stomach it...
I found that holding a buffered aspiring between my teeth, directly over the one that was broken, was good for temporary relief.
I'm so sorry...toothaches are a bitch!

12. Boy Do I Know About That
I had one that 20mg of Hydrocodone + 2 Aleve every two hours couldn't knock out. I'm finally getting to go to the dentist - my #15 is so messed up I'm just going to have it pulled; #3 needs a crown and several pins at least (1/2 the tooth is gone) and #30 needs a crown (had the canal done last time I had insurance ... 8 years ago ...). I am hoping against hope that the rest just need fillings. I almost have 'meth mouth' without the meth or spotlessly clean house.
