1. We use them and have never had a problem.
However, we've never had to file a claim. :P We've been using GEICO for about five years now, and the rates are reasonable compared to other places. You might want to see if you hear from anyone who's had to file a claim and see what their take is. :)

2. Hate that they are a red company, but we've used them for
3 to 4 years and they have always been accomodating and easy to deal with.

3. Go with Grange...
Each year you drive ticket/accident free you get pretty serious amounts of premium lopped off. We've got 5 cars insured (three with full coverage for about 2800/year. :hi:

17. They don't insure in Texas?
Wow. The company isn't in Michigan but it services Michigan. That's wild.

4. Yes, I like Geico.
It's the least expensive for me. I've never had to file a real claim (knock on wood) but I've had my car towed, and they re-imburse you right away for that. You get one free tow for every six month policy.

Also, I accidentally let my policy lapse a few months ago, and I called a few dates after my policy expired and they said "no problem" and reinstated it.

5. Yes, quite a bit.
Saved money, and got a very good response after a fender bender a few months ago.

6. Very competitve rates...
but we haven't needed to file a claim, either. Good customer service as well.

8. I carried Geico car insurance for 15 years
until I could no longer afford them. No claims in all 15 years but every 6 month period there was an increase in the premiums. Effective Aug.1st this year I switched to a company just expanding into FL and saved $450 per year. If you get a decent price from them though I say go for it. They are easy to deal with.

18. The letter said it was for 5 years of good driving! I can't tell you
exactly what I pay b/c there are 2 cars on the policy( and one is a 22 year old male whose rates did not go down)but it looks like it went down about $200/year..
I have also had good customer service from them...a year ago someone backed into me and the appraiser was out here in about 24 hours..

Great rates, great service, and a 100% BLUE company.

13. Well, so far, considering there is an HUGE claim filed against me..
and they haven't given an inch to the other guy.....(I PROMISE it's a scam; someone pulled onto highway off the shoulder in front of my husband at four in the morning when he was going 65 mph.)
..I'm inclined to say they are pretty good. My rates are still within my ability to pay, which is amazing considering the above.

14. I don't drive, BUT I do work for trial lawyers
Which means that I have to deal with just about every insurance company around.

In my experience, GEICO and State Farm are two of the best to deal with. They both seem fairly committed to resolving claims as quickly as possible with the least amount of inconvenience to their policy holders.

Allstate is just about as bad as they get. They're impossible to deal with, they drag their policy holders through a wringer if there's a claim (I've seen them try to depose comatose people who were *passengers* in the accident trying to prove any sort of fraud they possibly can) and their attorneys get paid to make more motions -- which, of course, slows down claims, bogs down the courts and makes for higher insurance policies. All because they don't like to pay on legit claims.

Just my experience anyway...

19. Had them for years, then they jacked my rates.
No tickets, no accidents, great credit. I'd been a happy Geico customer for about four years, then for no reason at all they DOUBLED my rates. Not a 10% increase, not a 20% increase, a 100% INCREASE. My first assumption was that there'd been some kind of mistake, but the Geico rep informed me that there had been a "regional rate adjustment" or somesuch nonsense. When I pressed for answers on how a "rate adjustment" for a perfect driver works out to a doubling of rates, I was transferred to a very terse manager who flat out refused to discuss the reasons for the increase to me. I called AAA the next day, and had my coverage transferred over the day after that. I refuse to deal with a company that jacks your rates and then won't give a better reason than "just because".

I was told later than Geico offers low rates to bad or middling drivers because they basically use good drivers to subsidize them. They let the good drivers get comfortable for a few years, and then jack their rates knowing that many wont go through the hassle of switching. Those good drivers then pay for the discounts the bad drivers are getting. It's a good deal if you've got a poor driving record, but a bad one if you're a careful and contentious driver.

22. nope, Safeco Insurance here
and out of 5 accidents that my wife has been in(none caused by her), they have been jimmy on the spot with the cash, and short on guff 4 out of 5 times. The 5th time, they were mean about it, and I believe it was just the adjuster that we had...once we cut through that guy, we got our money quick. We have an 04 Dodge intrepid, and an 89 GMC Vandura, and full coverage on both is 120 dollars a month....I like them...

How is your driving record? Consider combining Homeowners or Renters Insurance with your auto policy to get a lower rate.

Check around.
