Anyone here sell blood for cash?

This guy here at work does. He's just out of college. He and his friends do it for beer money. Wow. I've been pretty hard up before, but I've never done that.

3. You can't sell whole blood but plasma pays, more for repeat donors

You have to have a real high iron count, so be sure to eat a lot of green leafy veggies or take a supplement for a day or three before donating.

7. Right after I graduated from college, I worked at a bank directly

across the street from a "plasma center" that paid $12 a pint. There were a lot of hard-up people who would sell their plasma and bring the checks in to cash them. Most of them were poor college students, but a lot of townies did it too. I just can't imagine.... :yoiks:

Hospitals need the plasma; blood drives don't always make up for the need. And as others have noted it's a good way for a healthy person to get some quick cash.

I've managed to scrape by so far but I don't know if I can this month. I may have to do it but I will have to tell a couple of lies or I won't pass the screening. I hate to lie, but hell when you are desperate...
