Why Does Jenny Craig Hire Celeb Spokespeople?

The rumor at my kid's school (in Kirstie Alley's neighborhood) is that she is on a fast track weight gaining kick these days. My question is this: why do commercial weight-loss companies hire celeb spokespeople? Most diets have a before-after-AFTER-THAT cycle and when the person is well known you can see that they regain the weight. If it's just Joe Schmoe like they do in the SlimFast commercials people are none the wiser. Remember Monica Lewinski's disastrous Jenny ad campaign?

If the wags are true then I guess Kirstie filmed that Halloween themed commercial a WHILE ago, she looks great in it, although it's OBNOXIOUS.

4. You Might Be Right But I Still Think

That it is better that those places get non-celebs because celeb or not most people do gain the weight back so who wants Monica Lewinski or Tommy Lasorda or whoever walking around being bad advertising a year later when you have no control over it? Anyone would think, shit, they couldn't even do it being PAID to do it and I'm supposed to pay THEM to eat that stuff, LOL!

Unless of course they do like Ana Nicole & have the gastric bypass and pretend it was the TrimSpa!
