Okay, normally I'm against making fun of people for their appearance...
But DEAR GOD.

Received in email - A Redneck Wedding:

Red ties, black ties, no tie. Mass confusion. "Alright, everyone . let's line up for the picture. Let's see .... hmmm, where shall we .... oh, yes! Perfect! Everyone, please move quickly! Right over there, in front of the garage. Yes, that will be just smashing!" I guess a jacket at a wedding would just be too citified, so let's just pin these boutonniere's right on the white shirts. Bubba, put down that cigarette! And no smoking during the ceremony! I told him it's tacky to light up during the sermon. If we could have put the wedding off for two more months, the groom would have saved enough money for a pair of black shoes. I told him his tennis shoes have black trim....that's good enough.

Not everyone can pull off such a vibrant red, but I think this group does it. Sassy, I tell you, just sassy.

Last, the cute couple:

Those Wal-Mart slides really enhance her cankles. Too bad they didn't come in white. Note how their "outdoor backdrop" is a clearing probably behind the All-Sups where the weeds actually got mowed just for this occasion.

At least his head is somewhat proportionate. To her left boob.

What's she showing us here? A severe case of knee gout?? Apparently, whatever it is has her husband in more of a stupor than usual - How bout those teeth?

"You SO crazy, honey ."

"Here baby, let me help you up here ....."

You can almost hear the banjo music.

1. That's an abomination.
Jack Sprat could eat no fat, his wife could eat no lean
And so betwixt them both, you see, he needs a dental plan.

24. Agreed; there seems to be a family resemblance too...
At least with facial features, which are the most telling of all... apart from any possible flippers... :hide:

11. But it doesn't LOOK faked.
Now, I don't know. I got it as a forward in email.

But I have known people who were along these lines - certainly not to this degree, but would find it perfectly acceptable to get married in sneakers, for example. The level of detail here - the red shawl the bride has covering her dress - that's exactly the sort of thing a white trash girl might find "elegant" to coordinate with her groom.

Hell, Britney and K-Fed got married in matching track suits. How far out of the realm of possibility is this?

they didn't get married in the track suits, they changed into them for the reception, that is so different ;-)

20. Why would all the other people in the wedding party
wear nice shoes then? You can almost see them just bust out laughing in the last shot.

I mean...I've googled "Redneck wedding hoax" and hoaxbusters has all kinds of these. I can keep searching for this exact one, but it's very time-consuming.

And, since the truth is stranger than fiction, who knows? I'm just saying most of these things are, indeed, just jokes.

13. I have no idea if that's real or not, but....
...the father of a friend of ours some years back was a professional photographer. Our friend swore his dad had done a wedding portrait of a woman who worked at the local fish house, and that she was wearing a white fringe leather skirt and jacket, boots to match, and had her very thin hair moussed into a stupor with 8-inch-tall see-through bangs. :wtf: I said there was no way that was true and laughed it off. When we saw him next time, he had borrowed an unretouched proof from his dad, and lo and behold, it was even worse than we ever imagined!  :yoiks: Her bangs were just thin wisps of hair, but somehow she had shellacked them in place so they would not budge. They totally defied gravity. Oh, and she was holding a bouquet that spelled out "Harley Davidson". That was too idiotic NOT to be real.... :spray:

26. I wish you could too.
 That was in either 1989 or 1990. Our gay diva friend Don (known to all his friends as Don Girl) was the one who showed it to us. It was the most heinous example of redneck mall hair I'd ever seen in my life! I told him I HAD to have a copy of it, but since his dad's work was/is copyrighted, he'd get in extreme trouble if he did that. I haven't talked to Don Girl in a while, but next time I do, I'm gonna hit him up for a copy again.... :P I don't know if he still has access to it, but that pic was legendary at his dad's studio....

15. Ok, yeah.. that's a little "out there"
But honestly, I feel more sadness than anything else. Well, I mean I feel sorry for them. Even if it isn't "real", those are still people and I just can't get myself to make fun of them.

I'm not putting anyone here down, I am just a sucker for the underdog... always have been. If it is real, then to be honest, I'm glad they found each other and hopefully make each other happy.

Go ahead, laugh at me..LOL.

29. Well, I didn't want to come across in the wrong way
I guess I could see where people would find the humor, but there is something that makes me a little sad to think that these people are having their pictures passed around and made fun of.

I mean, they could probably give a shit, but like I said.. I always feel sad for people like this.

Although I have to say that the one guy's tie matches the color of the grooms, that must be the best man. That part is kind of funny.

30. Real or not, right now
All over the internet, people in droves are making fun of these folks as individuals, as a couple or as an extended family.

I don't think the weight of the bride is funny. I don't think that the size nor the way the "groom" looks is funny. For all I know, he has some trauma or disease that I've been blessed enough to avoid (which might explain the sneakers).

I'm not chastising anyone, just saying we should all stand in another pair of shoes before we point and laugh at the person wearing them.

36. Locking.
Here's another funny wedding picture ... or not:

You can point and laugh I guess. Only if you want, of course.

"Look at them!"
"What's wrong?"
"Don't you see it?"
"They might be happy, that's all what counts."
"But ... but ..."
"But what?"
"Isn't it obvious?"
"What? That you're making fun of them? Yeah, pretty much."

Respectfully submitted,

Call Me Wesley
