When you hear that message, "Your call is important to us. Please stay on the line and the next available representative will assist you." Then, you have to listen to something that sounds like Liberace playing "Cat Scratch Fever," then a minute later, you go back to, "Your call is important to us..." and so on, until you are ready to faint. I usually look at the clock and I will give them five minutes, but if they don't give me a live person within five minutes, I assume that my call isn't actually that important to them, and hang up. What's your limit?

1. That depends.
If I'm calling about something that MUST get resolved I'll stay on hold all day and escallate up to the President's office if necessary.

If it's not terribly important then I hang up after 15 minutes, and pull my business. If they can't be bothered to talk to me then I can't be bothered to give them my money.
